I have seen the exact same needle spikes growing in lidocaine. There is an example in this post.

I see the angel hair webs almost daily outside.

Nice work

HCl does not crystallize. What you're likely seeing is metal salts. You'll likely have to reduce the metal concentration of your HCl. Get a metal analysis done and then look at solubility charts.

sorry if these are way off guesses. I do wonder if this is about metals being present. I am so not a chemist.

I know nothing about metal concentrations in HCI. This is all new for me. I am learning as I go. Thank you!!

Is this something worth noting? Observation of HCI-induced nanostructures with a scanning probe microscope:

Give your DJ a raise!

Very interesting reaction! I presume the acid doesn't crystalize like that typically??

I haven't observed HCL alone to do much, only when looking at onsite generated CLO2, once the part A&B stop reacting you have lots of sodium crystals, however you don't get a crystal kingdom

I have NO IDEA! I need a more verbal breakdown of what I'm seeing...what's normal and what's not!! Some of us need a microscope 101 breakdown for dummies. :D
